Document Crunch integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud
Document Crunch, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based system that reviews, plans, specifications and other project data to identify problems with contracts and complicated risk, is pleased to announce a new integration with Autodesk Construction CloudÔ, a portfolio of software and services that combines advanced technology, a builders network and predictive insights for construction teams.
On the surface, Document Crunch is an AI-based construction document review software. A contractor representative uploads a document into the system and within minutes, they receive a comprehensive review focusing on more than 40 different provisions. This review breaks the contract down into easily digestible language. For example, it can explain contract price, waivers of consequential damages, subrogation waivers, indemnity, insurance obligations, and more. Document Crunch creates a bridge between the back office and the individuals tasked with executing builds by creating a Cheat Sheet that provides a full understanding of the provisions impacting day-to-day project management. Now, customers can easily embed Document Crunch into their AutodeskÒ Build or BIM 360Ò Project Home dashboards to quickly understand and manage risk within documents such as contracts, insurance policies, and specifications.
When asked why Josh Levy, CEO, started Document Crunch in 2019, he made it clear that understanding risk was the driving force. “The risks still exist, but our industry has historically struggled to understand, manage, and administrate the risks in project documents,” Levy says. “Document Crunch empowers customers to easily understand those risks, prepare for them, and make well-informed decisions.”
“Identifying and reducing risk within construction documents early pays significant dividends to construction projects,” said James Cook head of integrations at Autodesk Construction Solutions. “Surfacing risk information from Document Crunch directly in Autodesk Construction Cloud enables project stakeholders to make well-informed and prompt decisions downstream, so they can minimize risks.”
Document Crunch can analyze construction contracts including prime contracts and subcontracts, as well as additional files including insurance documents, drawings, plans, specifications, non-disclosure agreements, leases, and other ancillary project documents.
“We’re really there as part of the builder’s toolbox for anything that impacts construction operations,” Levy says.
Customers can add the Document Crunch Partner Card to the Autodesk Build or BIM 360 Project Home dashboard by following these steps.
Beyond construction, the Document Crunch platform also has solutions for commercial real estate, general commercial documents, and corporate governance and compliance documents. This is an invaluable resource to support contract reviews and negotiations in the back office. For project level personnel to understand certain provisions in the contracts,
In order to further bolster its impact on project outcomes and risk management, Document Crunch looks forward to building additional integrations with Autodesk Construction Cloud’s common data environment, Autodesk Docs, and the Cost Management module within Autodesk Build.
